I'm sure anyone reading this is getting ready for Christmas! I have been busy sewing like crazy. A huge wedding order and lots of pageant dress orders :)
This was my only actual Christmas order. I really liked how this little dress turned out. I love the classic color combination and traditional lines.
Here is a dress I designed for a customer who wanted a dress that was embroidered, but not smocked. It was a lovely pool blue silk. I made it with two sashes to change up the look when desired. I embroidered the bodice with white bullion roses and pearls.
I really loved how this little dress set turned out. It is a dupioni silk set with a white bodice and a rich cornflower blue skirt and bloomers. The bodice is smocked with bullion rose sprays and a row of pearls for extra interest :o) Here is a closeup of the smocking
Here is a shot of the entire set:
I hope my little customer loves it and it does well for her in the pageant :o)
Thanks for looking!
This dress was custom ordered by a special client for a Royal Birthday Gala! (Lucky little girl!) It is made of iridescent lilac and magenta silk dupioni. I hand embroidered some bullion roses along the bodice and added a few beads for extra sparkle.
I can't wait to see a photo of this little beauty wearing it :o) I know she will have a lovely birthday.
Thanks for looking!
Here is a lovely little smocked silk gown I made for a sweet little girl that used to model for me years ago! She was only 18 months back when she used to be my little model and now she is already 7!!! My time flies by sooooo quickly. If her mom sends me any photos, I will post some then and now photos! :o)
Here is the gown. It is the richest shade of purple!
Here is a closeup of the smocking and embroidery:
The gown is my original pattern that I drafted years ago. I had almost forgotten how to make it, it had been so long. Anyhow, I thought you might like to see it.
Have a great day!
This silk was absolutely AMAZING in person. I loved the iridescent teal. It had fuchsia crossthreads.
I smocked it with glass seed beads and swarovski crystals.
Thanks for looking and have a great week!!
Here is my latest little pageant creation. It is a stunning fuchsia and orange silk combo. The bodice is fully smocked from shoulder to waist and loaded with orange glass seed beads but they were hard to photograph.
Here is a full photo of the gown:
Thank you for looking and have a great weekend!
I have an order for 4 coordinating flower girl dresses. 3 yoke dresses, and one bishop. The bride wanted them to be ivory with tone on tone smocking. I think they are turning out so timeless and elegant.
Here is a closeup of the smocking.
I will post the bishop soon.
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!
I really loved this color combo in this little silk dress. The accent color silk was a super unique green/gold/teal color, depending on which way the light hit it! That is the neat thing about iridescent silk......it changes colors depending on which way you look at it :o) I smocked the bodice with a variegated thread that went from teal to green to gold and added glass seed beads for extra sparkle. Thanks for looking! Angela
Here is a white and pink silk pageant dress for a customer. It is not smocked, but it does have an embroidered bodice. I think this color combo is so sweet :o) Here is a closeup of the bullion rose embroidery Thanks for looking and have a great day! Angela
Here is the latest little silk creation. This one was a combination of a royal blue and a lovely bright blue. The smocking includes over 160 glass seed beads.... I think this will look wonderful with the little client's blonde hair and blue eyes :o) Thanks for peeking! Angela

I love the colors in this dress. I think this will look gorgeous on stage. It is a rich royal blue with bullion embroidered flowers, pearls and glass seed beads. Here is the full length photo: Thanks for looking! Angela
Thank you sweet ladies for your last response to my post. I will continue to post now that I now that there are still people reading :o) I am working on another silk dupioni dress. This one will be an olive green and lavender combination. It isn't smocked as it is for a 7-yr-old, but it is embroidered. I decided to do a silk ribbon rose design.........I know my blogger friend, Pat in the UK will approve :o) I added a few floss embroidered flowers as accents and some glass seed beads and pearls. I should be able to post the finished dress in a couple of days. But here it is so far. Thank you again!!! Angela
I know, I have been terrible about updating this blog. I have a hard time deciding if anyone even reads it or if everyone is on facebook. I'm not sure what people prefer anymore or if they are even interested. lol Here are a couple of silk dupoioni dresses that I have made in the last month or two if anyone is still reading. Here is the first one... This pink was so gorgeous in person.
And I had another lovely bubblegum pink and lavender dress order..... I loved them both. I just love little girls in pink :o) I would love to go to one of these Sunday's Best style pageants to see all the different dresses these little girls wear. I bet they are gorgeous on stage. Good luck to my little customers and thanks to anyone who is reading! Angela
I sing, I sew, I smock. I spend way too much time on this computer! I am a stay at home Christian mom to 2. I have had the honor of having several designs featured in AS&E magazine and on the cover of Designer Smocking for Tots to Teens. I have also had a pattern featured in Sew Beautiful Magazine.
