SRE Easter dress finished!

As promised, here are a few photos of the finished Silk Ribbon Embroidery dress completed.

I love how the shadow embroidery came out on the silk batiste. Nice and colorful!

It also had a matching bonnet.

It had an embroidered brim:

My customer also wanted lace pantaloons to go under the dress so it can be worn with some darling Victorian boots!

It was a very labor intensive, yet fun project. I am thrilled that I was able to create it for my customer. I hope she will be pleased!!

  5. Thank you so very much! Sara, I LOVED working with the silk batiste. It had a little more body to it than cotton batiste, so it supported the silk ribbon embroidery better. Also, I liked the little bit of sheen in it. I thought it complimented the silk ribbon nicely. Like I posted, I was really pleasantly surprised at how clearly my "shadows" came through too! :o) Especially since the rest of the dress does not appear sheer. The only drawback is that you have to sew it carefully when constructing it as it tends to slide around while sewing. I still highly recommend it though! Thank you so much again!!
