A work in progress...

Here is a sneak peek of a lemonade stand set that I am working on. I should finish the rest of the smocking today and start the construction of the set. I'll post the finished product in a day or two :o) I hope you are having a terrific week! Angela

  1. That is incredible! You have so much detail in the design! How do you go about designing a plate as detailed as that? On paper, in your head, or drawn on the fabric?

  2. Thank you so much Laura. I draw it out on smocking graph paper and then tweak it as I stitch it out. Sometimes the drawing does not quite correlate with the actual stitching so I have to change it up a bit. :o) I will add more detail, in the form of little nails on the boards when I am finished. I will also add some grass and bees buzzing around.

  3. I can't wait to see it! When I have designed picture smocking plates for myself before, I have had to draw them out on the pleats with a water soluble pen because I can't "see" it on the graph paper. I'm in awe of anyone who can.

  4. Don'tcha just hate it when people keep commenting and commenting! :) I just went to your website and saw this finished. So cute with the awning over the lemonade stand! My very first thing I ever smocked was your sleeveless top with the straps.
